Description
Originating from the iconic French winemaking region Banyuls-sur-Mer, on the South-west coast of France – producers of some of the world’s most prestigious wines, Banyuls vinegar is an uncharacteristically smooth, and well-aged- akin to the wine in which it is derived. Banyul wines, typically made from grapes harvested in early fall- reaching the optimal level of sweetness; and fermented as whole berries are the inspiration for this exceptional Banyuls vinegar.
Banyuls vinegar is one of the world’s most prized and sought after vinegars. It is an artisanal product, prepared by old-world craftsman and oak-barrel aged without sulfites for five years. This natural aging process brings forth a spectacular flavor profile consisting of red fruit and hazelnuts. Tasting somewhat between a cross of balsamic vinegar and sherry vinegar, Banyuls vinegar offers up a deep rich flavor with a hint of sweetness, making it the perfect pairing with Foie Gras, or as a glaze for duck and game meats. You can also use it as a vinaigrette for salads and dipping.
