Imported from Denmark, our Danish Trout Caviar (species Oncorhynchus mykiss) is one of our best-selling, non-sturgeon caviar products and has increased in popularity over the last half-decade. The fish have been sustainably close-farmed and provide firm, medium-sized (the size of peppercorns), shiny and fresh, lightly-salted grains (eggs). The grains are Mandarin-orange in colour with a mild, fresh, fruity flavor, with a subtle anchovy-like taste. They are an excellent source of Omega 3-fatty acids and provide a colourful eye-catching pop to canapes and hors d’oeuvres. Add Danish Trout Caviar to scrambled eggs and omelets, or serve atop deviled eggs. Use as a garnish for seafood and pasta dishes, or enjoy it standalone with some crackers or bread.
This product is pasteurized and has a minimum 6-month shelf life. The ideal temperature to store this product is +2c-+4c. Please refer to our Tasting Notes section for further details.
